Georgiadis Giorgos

Terpsichore No1

CODE: Γ19-10 | L: 40cm,W: 45cm,H: 51cm

Material: Brass

Artwork of 2012. It was presented at the solo exhibition "Mythology Backwards" by Giorgos Georgiadis at Sianti Gallery. The nine ancient Greek Goddesses, including Terpsichore, were considered patrons of music, dance, poetry, prose, philosophy, as well as any spiritual and artistic manifestation. Said Terpsichore the daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne was charged with protecting Lyrical Poetry, courtly art and often orchestral, i.e. dance. This modern goddess may stand out for her special talent in calliphony and the use of musical instruments, the courtly art, but this gentle Terpsichore feels very light for the orchesis, that is, the dance she adores and for whom she is adored, dressed as a classical ballerina.
