Apostolos Petridis began his long journey in the world of thought, philosophy, art from his birthplace, Parga. He found himself in Athens in 1954, enrolled in a night high school and took exams at the School of Fine Arts, where he was rejected as… unfit to study. In 1983 he presented for the first time the single wire sculptures. His art was discovered and recognized by the unforgettable Nora Stamatiadou, a great architect and gallerist, while Dimitris Pieridis was the first to buy a life-size work of his. Since then, the sculptor Apostolos Petridis remains the only creator of single wire works.
