Artwork of 2012. It was presented at the solo exhibition "Mythology Backwards" by Giorgos Georgiadis at Sianti Gallery. Arion the Kitharodos from Mithymna in Lesbos lived and created in Corinth near the wise tyrant Periander, who sent him to Syracuse to compete in music where he won many prizes and won money. On his return from Taranto the sailors took him and threw him into the sea after first allowing him to sing. But a dolphin carried him on its back to Cape Tainaro in a deserted location. In order to survive he was forced with a heavy heart to eat his savior singing hymns for his good fortune. He then managed to walk back to Corinth in bad shape, where Periander arrested the sailors as soon as they arrived there and in the presence of Arion sentenced them to death.
