Giorgos Stathopoulos was born in 1944, in a village called Kalithea, in Agrinio. He studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts, with professors Yiannis Moralis, N. Nickolaou, Y. Pappas and D. Kalamaras (1966-1971).
Giorgos Stathopoulos was born in 1944, in a village called Kalithea, in Agrinio. He studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts, with professors Yiannis Moralis, N. Nickolaou, Y. Pappas and D. Kalamaras (1966-1971). He has been presented in many group and personal exhibitions, in Greece and abroad. He has painted many book and record covers and has designed many posters and stage settings. His work has clear references to the Greek spirit and combines surrealism with expressionism, with characteristic simplicity. He lives and works in Athens.
