On Saturday, 10 December, 2022 at 12:30, Sianti Gallery will be presenting the annual group exhibition “Small Paintings 2022-2023”. The title could very well be a definition of Art: greatness does not necessarily refer to the dimensional level, it has to do with expression, depth and most of all, emotion. The artworks presented in the exhibition are characterized by a great variety of themes, a variety which characterizes the materials used in their creation as well. The scale change affects each work’s constructing materials, while offering great expressive freedom to the artists.
Painting addresses sight, calling upon the viewer to observe the dialog between the artwork and the artist. Sculpture, on the other hand, combines sight with tactility, impressing us with its material form, its plastic superiority and its ability to enrich space. The exhibition, which has become a favorite tradition of ours, consists mostly of artworks 30Χ30 cm in dimension, created by new and older friends with the hope of filling this festive period with color and good wishes. Forty visual artists participate in this project presenting older, as well as new works which have been created for this particular exhibition. This unique “conjunction” of artistic minds, which has become somewhat of a Christmas custom, combines everyday visual experiences in order to highlight Art as a heartfelt present for our loved ones.
And since Christmas is all about offering, this year, Sianti Gallery and Giorgos Stathopoulos will be gifting one of the artist’s paintings, offering lottery tickets at the price of 10 euros each for the duration of the exhibition. All revenues will be given to the SOS Children’s Villages and a lucky winner will have the chance to acquire one of the artist’s works at the lottery which will take place in the presence of Mrs. Anni Katsouli as a representative of the SOS Children’s Villages.
