Gogo Ieromonachou was born in Kalymnos and lives and works in Athens. She studied Mathematics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts, graduating with distinction in 2016.
Her painting engages with experiences, memories and emotions that the viewer may recognize before being able to name them. In her work, form, technique and meaning are inseparable; the image is intended not merely to represent the visible world, but to persist in memory and resurface involuntarily when the viewer encounters it again.
