For the first time in Greece, the Guggenheim Fellowship award-winning artist Peter Reginato.
Sianti Gallery proudly presented the first solo painting exhibition in Athens by acclaimed American artist Peter Reginato, titled CHROMA.
With over 60 solo shows and works featured in major collections such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Hirshhorn Museum, Peter Reginato stands as a leading figure in American abstract art. While widely recognized for his sculptures, CHROMA shifts the focus exclusively to his paintings, revealing a more intimate and personal artistic side.
The exhibition gathers works from the past eight years, many kept in the artist’s private collection. Through vivid, vibrant colors, asymmetrical lines, and an aesthetic born from play and improvisation, Reginato invites viewers into a world of joy, energy, and freedom.
“At 79, I feel I’m creating the best work of my life,” Reginato says. In this new work, he blends Cubist humor with Abstract Expressionist energy, forming dynamic relationships between figure and ground.
CHROMA is not just an art show—it’s a full experience: three original poems by American poet Michael Sickler, inspired by Reginato’s paintings, accompany the artworks, enriching the dialogue between visual and written expression.
An exhibition full of rhythm, movement, and vibrant emotion, CHROMA celebrates Peter Reginato’s relentless exploration of color, form, and the joyful spirit of creation.
Exhibition dates: May 9–31, 2025
