Dimitris Mytaras was born is Chalkida in 1934 and he died in Athens in 2017. He studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1953 – 1957) under Spyros Papaloukas and Yiannis Moralis.
Dimitris Mytaras was born is Chalkida in 1934 and he died in Athens in 2017. He studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1953 – 1957) under Spyros Papaloukas and Yiannis Moralis. Having obtained a scholarship from the State Scholarship Foundation (I.K.Y), he studied scenography in Paris (1961 – 1964) under F. Labisse and J. L. Barrault (1961 – 1964), as well as interior design at the Ecole d’Arts et Metiers from 1964 until 1972. He is director of the Interior Design Workshop of the Athens Technological Institute (Doxiadis). In 1975 he was appointed professor at the School of Fine Arts in Athens. His works has been exhibited in Athens in private exhibitions, as well as in Bologna, Florence, Rome, Genova, etc. In March of 2008 he was elected as regular member of the Academy of Athens.
